Description:
The Evoking stage of the MI process, is when the MI practitioner encourages and supports the individual to build their own “why” of change through eliciting the client’s ideas and motivations. This process requires skillful attention to the person’s talk about change.
Once the “why” has been established and agreed upon, then the planning stage of the process begins. The Planning stage explores the “how” of change where the MI practitioner supports the individual to develop a plan based on the individual’s own insights and expertise.
Objectives:
- Identify indicators of change talk and sustain talk
- Apply MI tools to address ambivalence
- Identify at least 2 opportunities for integrating MI into daily work
Participants will join this session via Zoom, and will require access to high-speed internet and a computer with audio and visual capabilities. After registration you will be sent a Zoom link to join the class day of.
