Motivational Interviewing can be a powerful and effective tool in helping individuals discover their own reasons for making a change. If you attended Motivational Interviewing 101, you learned there are simple techniques that can be learned quickly. However, it takes time and practice to master MI so that it can be used most effectively.
This session will provided multiple opportunities to practice MI skills with peers in the deliberate practice of MI tools and techniques. Highly interactive scenarios create opportunity for practice, coaching and feedback. Mastery of MI takes practice, practice, and more practice. This session will create a safe space to practice and improve MI skills.
Objectives:
Apply the fundamental processes of Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Practice how to support behavior change using MI
Identify at least one way for integrating MI into daily work
Who should attend:
Individuals who are working directly with clients and supporting them in changing behaviors
Participants will join this session via Zoom, and will require access to high-speed internet and a computer with audio and visual capabilities. After registration you will be sent a Zoom link to join the class day of.
