Adult Internal Medicine (MD or DO) Opportunity for US Residents and/or J-1 or H1B eligible candidates
Fast-paced federally qualified community health center seeks:
- A positive, caring, and motivated physician (MD or DO) to provide clinical oversight of diagnostic procedures and treatment plans
- A professional medical provider (MD or DO) with good judgment and decision-making skills
- A physician familiar with administration, prescription, and evaluations of medications for adults
Some responsibilities within this rewarding role are:
- Provide patient referrals for laboratory testing, medical treatment, or inpatient hospitalizations; review of discharge summaries
- Responsive to and ability to assist patients presenting with multiple problems
- Ability to provide clinical supervisory directives to peers and support staff
- Participation in internal and external quality management initiatives and reviews
- Complete quality, professional documentation in and maintenance of medical records
- Participation in community based initiatives and collaboratives
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team setting
- Review and complete documentation requirements for third party reimbursement
- Familiarity with managed care procedures
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Current participation in Managed Care providers networks preferred
- Previous work in community health center or hospital outpatient department desirable
- Previous experience in the treatment of Medicaid eligible and commercially insured recipients
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English desirable
- Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills
- Experience with electronic health records
- Ability to adapt to scheduling changes
- Sensitivity to cultural issues and differences
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine
- Successful completion of an approved medical training program
- Unrestricted, active medical licensure in the State of Connecticut
- Certified or eligible for certification in Internal Medicine
- Current controlled substances registration certificate (DEA-Federal)
