Referral Coordinator

Fast-paced community health center seeks a positive, highly motivated Medical Referral Coordinator. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clinical staff, Patient Service Associates, specialty care providers, insurance carriers, and patients. Some responsibilities of this Medical Referral Coordinator include:

  • Initialize and complete timely referrals while maintaining ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation
  • Ensure accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance
  • Assemble patient’s clinical background information and referral needs
  • Problem solve potential issues related to the health care system, financial, or social barriers
  • Act as point of contact for patients and families, allowing direct access for questions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with identified service providers
  • Advocate on patient’s behalf with insurance carriers to ensure approval of necessary supplies / services

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour

Schedule:

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)

 

Experience:

  • Community Health Center and/or Medical office: 1 year (Preferred)
  • health insurance and claims processing: 1 year (Preferred)

 

Language:

  • and write Spanish fluently (Required)
