Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner- PMHNP – Child & Adolescent

Family Centers Inc. has an opportunity for a part or full time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive psychiatric consulting and treatment necessary for the promotion of optimal mental health and wellness.

The Opportunity
Family Centers Inc. is looking for an experienced, energetic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide psychiatric services in Family Centers outpatient and school-based outpatient clinics in Stamford and Greenwich, CT.

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for psychiatric assessments, diagnosis, treatment and medication management for clients throughout the lifespan but with a focus on children and adolescents.

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner will also be a resource to Family Centers staff. As a resource to staff, the Psychiatric APRN will participate in integrated health meetings to discuss challenging topics and treatment planning with an interdisciplinary team. These consultations may focus upon diagnostic clarification and/or treatment planning.

This position offers a flexible part- time or full-time schedule with an opportunity for a hybrid work week. Supervision and support provided weekly with Family Centers Psychiatrist and administrative support provided by program directors. Client support staff maintain psychiatric schedule and appointments.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification
  • Graduation from an accredited university
  • An unrestricted RN and APRN license in Connecticut
  • State of Connecticut controlled substance registration and DEA licenses
  • Experience working with children and adolescents
  • Medical malpractice insurance in addition to that offered by the agency

About Family Centers Inc., Mental Health Program
Located in Stamford, Greenwich and Darien, Family Centers Mental Health Programs screenings, individual, couple and family mental health counseling and other wrap-around services. The sites are licensed by the State of Connecticut and are staffed by licensed professionals and client support staff that specialize in mental health. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, each year our clinicians in Greenwich and Stamford are eligible to participate in the National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment program (contingent of availability of federal funding).
