Generations Family Health Center, Inc. is a regional community health center covering a thirty-seven-town rural region in eastern Connecticut with sites located in Willimantic, Danielson, Norwich and Putnam.  Our dedicated staff provides a full range of primary care services to all ages including medical, dental and behavioral health care, as well as care coordination and community outreach. In addition to our main facilities, we offer mobile programs and School Based Health Centers.

 

LOCATION: Willimantic, CT (Full-time, 40 hours)

 

Job Summary:  The Director of Medical and Dental Operations is responsible for oversight of all operations within the Medical and Dental departments across the organization, including the supervision of the applicable Managers. This position is responsible for ensuring the health center’s adherence to regulatory, funding source and agency requirements and guidelines. The Director of Medical and Dental Operations (DMDO) is also responsible for oversight of the development and implementation of all new Medical and Dental services, programs, and/or sites. The DMDO is responsible for implementation and occasional development of non-clinical policy and procedures. Maintains oversight of all administrative functions at each medical and dental site, including reception, data entry, customer service, billing and payment collection, and health information procedures. The DMDO participates in all facility development projects, including all phases of design, construction and operational start-up. The DMDO participates in strategic and operational planning, as a key member of the management team.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in public health, health administration, nursing, social work or other related field and minimum five years related experience managing direct care issues and facilities; or equivalent education and related experience. Strong oral and written communications. Must have significant supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Skill in formulating, developing and implementing policies, procedures and strategies; Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, analyze and report on data; Knowledge of grants and contracts preparation and management; Program planning and implementation skills; Strong communication skills; Knowledge of regulatory requirements for healthcare operations.
