Dental Assistant

(Full-time – 40 hours/week OR Part-time – 24 hours/week)

Generations Family Health Center, Inc. is a regional community health center covering a thirty-seven town rural region in eastern Connecticut with sites located in Willimantic, Danielson, Norwich and Putnam.  Our dedicated staff provides a full range of primary care services to all ages including medical, dental and behavioral health care, as well as care coordination and community outreach. In addition to our main facilities, we offer mobile programs and School Based Health Centers.

LOCATIONS: Willimantic & Putnam, CT

QUALIFICATIONS:   Successful completion of training program and/or 3 years’ experience. DANB (Dental Assistant National Board) Certified Dental Assistant or DANB certifications; Must have Infection Control and Radiation Health and Safety training. Maintains current CPR certification. Maintain current Infection Control Certification through continuing education courses and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The dental assistant will assist with coordination of patient flow, prepare patients for examination and procedures. Responsible for chair-side assistance during examination and treatment of patients (e.g., performing four-handed dentistry, evacuation, retracing, mixing material and exchanging instruments). Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing dental equipment and keeping inventory of dental supplies per agency protocol.  Must keep in compliance with all Generations Family Health Center, Inc. protocols.  Dental assistant is responsible for some administrative functions, such as filing of lab reports/lab tracking and scanning, contacting patients regarding appointments.

Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
