CMS Emergency Preparedness Final Rule and Health Centers: Are You Prepared? (Tarrytown, NY)

July 12, 2017 - July 13, 2017

CMS Emergency Preparedness Final Rule and Health Centers: Are You Prepared?
July 12 & 13, 2017
Tarrytown, NY
Wednesday, July 12 – 8 am – 5 pm
Thursday, July 13 – 8 am – 5 pm
Hosted by Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP (FTLF) and Primary Care Emergency Preparedness Network (PCEPN).
FTLF and PCEPN have partnered to provide a brand-new, interactive and engaging training for health centers on the new CMS emergency preparedness requirements that went into effect on November 16, 2016.  Medicare and Medicaid participating providers and suppliers, including health centers, must comply by November 17, 2017.
The new rule is far-reaching and requires providers to conduct annual risk assessments and develop emergency plans. In addition, providers must develop and implement policies and procedures to successfully execute their emergency plans, while addressing risks identified during their most recent assessment phase.  Providers must also establish a communications plan to communicate and coordinate patient care within and outside their facilities during an emergency. Finally, providers must demonstrate ongoing training and testing of their emergency management programs, including conducting exercises.
This two-day workshop will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of the new rule, what it requires and how to successfully implement it in your health center.  Topics include:

Legal Requirements of Emergency Preparedness Program
Overview of the Elements of Your Emergency Preparedness Program
Hazard Vulnerability Analysis
Coalition Concepts, Community Integration and Communication
Risk Reduction in Emergency Response (FTCA, 330, HIPAA and Volunteer Considerations)
Program Evaluation

This is not your typical workshop!!!  Plan to get out of your chairs, roll up your sleeves and prepare for any and all emergencies that your health center might encounter.
Remember – you do not plan to fail, but rather fail to plan!
