Friday, February 9, 2018—”The Community Health Center Association of Connecticut applauds the actions of the U.S. Congress for extending the Health Center Trust Fund by two more years with today’s vote to fund the federal government. Federally Qualified Health Centers serve on the front lines in providing nearly 400,000 Connecticut residents with access to quality, affordable primary care, dental care and behavioral health care. Many of our patients are unable to afford any other form of health care coverage, and our 17 centers throughout Connecticut work on a daily basis to keep more than 10% of the population healthy. The Trust Fund is essential to these centers being able to continue to do these great works for patients, and we are grateful to Connecticut’s Congressional delegation for working to keep it going through 2019, as well as their ongoing support throughout this period of uncertainty.”
