The Senior Director of Outpatient Services directs plans, oversees and organizes all activities, aspects of Outpatient Services. The SD develops and maintains a high quality, cost effective, research based continuum of behavioral health and integrated care services. Programs and services include mental health and substance abuse outpatient programs, intensive outpatient programs, crisis intervention and care management services delivered to adults and may include children and adolescents. The SD directly supervises the department Directors, Associate Directors, and Managers as needed. As part of a FQHC, the Senior Director of Outpatient Services will build customer and key stakeholder relationships and assist in expanding services to the communities served.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s or Doctoral degree in a behavioral health discipline plus a minimum of 5 years of management experience is required to successfully perform the planning, direction, reporting, clinical and administrative responsibilities of this position. Clinical competency and experience in the development, management and delivery behavioral health best practices and service administrative management is also required. Interpersonal skills are needed to lead and motivate, address personnel situations, interact with consumers, purchasers, other providers and stakeholders.
Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and primary care behavioral health integration with a multidisciplinary team that included budget development and management is preferred.
Credential(s) Required: Relevant state licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPC or Psychologist) is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and direction to the department by implementing and sustaining best and evidence base practice, such as specific models supported by quality assurance, as standard care in all treatment programs.
Develops and manages department based innovative and competitive grant applications that result in service awards.
Seeks new opportunities for program growth in a broad area of behavioral health.
Supports and promotes integrated care models of service delivery within the department.
Interprets, manages and consistently maintains organizational policy and procedure, regulatory, accreditation, contractual and licensing requirements in the department.
Ensures employees strive to achieve organizational/departmental and contractual targets and outcomes in the area of financial, client, employee, internal processes and compliance.
Prepares and controls the department expense budget and maximizes revenue generation and collection to contribute to a cost effective, efficient operation and positive bottom line.
Provides guidance, coaching and support to direct reports on recruitment and hiring, employee engagement, including staff development, recognition and retention, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
Maintains productive, influential relationships with public and private funders and policy makers and within trade associations.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
