Position Description:

Grant Writer

POSITION SUMMARY:      Spearheads and coordinates grants development and submission to funders, and development of new concepts for health center’s submission and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.      Prepares grant applications for new and existing programs in conjunction with medical, dental, behavioral health and, as applicable, other departments, ensuring high quality presentation, and timely internal review and external submission.

2.      Serves as liaison with funders.

3.      Researches new sources of grant and other support for the organization to facilitate pursuit of annual and long term development goals.

4.      Provides staff support to the Development Committee of the Board of Directors.

5.      Prepares annual and long-term development goals in conjunction with needs identified by departments and programs.

6.      Coordinates preparation of health center annual report.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1.      Bachelor’s degree required.

2.      Masters degree in health or social services discipline preferred.

3.      Superior written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
